Don’t you love the way Christmas smells? You know, the smell of evergreen, cinnamon, and oranges? We love Christmas most of the year around our home. But, there is something about the smell of Christmas that just gets you in the mood for the holidays. 🙂
I love to diffuse essential oils all year, but during Christmas, I love to add those smells of baked pies, apple cider and peppermint hot chocolate. Who doesn’t love that?
Fresh Evergreen Christmas Smells
Hanging fresh evergreen inside your home, whether on the door, a banister or your fireplace hearth, will add to the aroma of a Christmas home.
Apple Cider Christmas Smells
Make a nice pot of apple cider in the crockpot on low with plenty of cinnamon and cloves to seep through the house.
Holly Jolly Christmas Smells
Add peppermint to your diffuser to drift through the house during those cold days right before Christmas. Snow or not, it really helps you get into the season.
Orange Apple Cider
Make a nice pot of orange and apple cider to your stove top. Or, poke your oranges with cloves and hang a few on the Christmas tree.
Cinnamon Christmas Smells
Add cinnamon aroma to your home by adding cinnamon sticks to your Christmas wreaths or even spray cinnamon essential oils on them. You can also diffuse cinnamon throughout the house.
Diffuse Christmas Smells
Make your own essential oil aromas with cinnamon, clove and orange essential oils. Or, I love Plant Therapy’s Holiday essential oil.
Carpet Christmas Smells
We all know how often our carpets should be cleaned, but if you sprinkle a few drops of Christmas oils on the carpet before you vacuum, you will fill the house with a wonderful smell. Use peppermint, cinnamon, orange or a holiday blend and aroma will last a day or two.
