There is always time to sip tea, cold or hot. I made this tea recipe for my special needs son who seemed to be obsessing over all the wrong things. I call it focus tea, because its intent is to help anyone concentrate. I especially created it for kids, so the herbal ingredients are gentle.
I started taking some herbal classes, and given the fact that ADD runs in our family, I stepped out and made my own tea. I looked for some combinations that would help those little ADD and OCD little people, kind of like my own! LOL We can change their diet, but there are some children (and adults) who still have some who are not neurologically typical. You can help this out with herbs and essential oils.
So, I came up with this focus tea. It has a balance of soothing calm, and alertness. See if this works for your child. I learned real quick not to give it to my special needs son too late, because he became quite focused alright!
If you are homeschooling (or you want to send them off to school bright-eyed and bushy tailed), you could start out with a science lesson on using herbs to make tea, and then transition to the books! Otherwise, this may help wake your child up for learning first thing in the morning.
